The Drinkers’ Journey is Predictable.
Without self-restriction or external intervention, regular alcohol consumption typically follows a predictable pattern that starts with positive impacts and results in negative impacts.
Positive impacts lead to
Increased use, which leads to
Dependency, which leads to
Overuse, which leads to
Negative impacts.
At each stage, there is an opportunity to press pause on the journey and avoid moving on to the next stage. However, without self-restriction or external intervention, the destination remains the same.
The Drinkers' Journey Map is a simple visual tool designed to help people understand that the dangers of alcohol consumption are often hard to see until they've caught up with you.
